Gevaert Bandweverij zag zijn levenslicht in 1899, opgericht door Jean-Baptist Gevaert. Onder de naam 'la rubanerie de Deynze' werd er toen reeds bretel- en ceintuurband geweven.
Deinze, de stad waar dit alles begon, is gelegen aan de Leie ofwel de 'gouden' rivier. Deze rivier was ooit de bakermat voor de vlasindustrie, en de regio groeide doorheen de tijd uit tot een textielregio met wereldfaam.
Gevaert Bandweverij is trots om deel uit te maken van deze rijke geschiedenis.
Omdat de consument steeds meer aandacht besteed aan sociaal en ecologisch verantwoorde productie van kledij en accessoires, bieden wij vanaf nu een origin label aan, dat er op wijst dat het gebruikte band bij Gevaert is geproduceerd.
Het Gevaert origin label is beschikbaar in 3 formaten zodat er voor ieder accessoire een aangepast label kan gebruikt worden.
